Custom Picture Framing in Jenkintown, PA

Framers’ Workroom is the area’s premier custom picture frame shop. With decades of experience and thousands of frames to choose from our quality and expertise is unmatched. We specialize in archival framing, which protects your art from degrading over time. We use only the highest quality glues in our frame building along with proven joining techniques to ensure a frame that will last for generations. We use conservation glass that protects your art against harmful U.V. light. All of our matting and backing materials are acid free, eliminating the prospect of deterioration caused by the acidity of normal paper products.

Our first step will be to understand what you’re looking for. Are you looking for a simple design that is understated or something more elaborate to draw more attention to the piece as a whole? Some of the most elegant or striking frames are often quite simple. We understand the relationship a frame has to the art and we listen to our customers to understand exactly what they want and then present them with compelling options.  Once we’ve decided on some framing options we’ll tell you what it would cost to frame your art in the ways we’ve considered. We take a deposit of 50% when the order is placed and you will have your piece within one week in most circumstances. Of course we can usually accommodate if you need your piece sooner. We may ask for a little more time for volume orders or more complicated pieces. Once we’ve completed your framing we’ll call or email you to let you know it’s ready. Most framed pieces come ready to hang with a wire, unless the frame needs more secure hardware. We’ll also give you a hook and nail designed to support the weight of your frame.

Our goal is that a piece framed today will hold up for generations to come. We design with a principal of timelessness and our execution must match. From the simplest design to the most elaborate fabrication there is no limit to what we can frame.

Some of the more complicated pieces that we work on go into shadowbox frames. This simply means that the item to be framed is three-dimensional and the glass needs to be lifted away from the art using some kind of spacer. Most clothing (jerseys, dresses, etc.) are stitched to a backing board using thread that is usually placed in the clothing’s existing seams. This minimizes the visibility of the means of attachment and gives the piece an appearance of floating. Understanding the materials and how they will look once framed is the most important aspect of shadowbox framing.
